About us

About Sidero Labs

We build the best bare metal Kubernetes management platform for data center, hybrid platforms, and edge.

Our Story

Sidero Labs® was born out of real-world experience with the pains of running Kubernetes in production — excessive complexity, fragility, lack of security. Headaches that impact and lower the productivity of developers.

We take a new approach to Linux and Kubernetes as we aim to stop the never-ending growth of software and tools.

We believe you should be able to connect machines regardless of where they are located. We strive for innovation and optimization that reduces staffing burdens. We envision a world where operational tasks are no longer just automated but truly autonomous, freeing humanity from routine tasks.

We are trusted by global names like Roche, SNCF, Ubisoft, and Nokia and work to ensure the support of our global community of passionate contributors.

Real life problems. Solved.

Leadership Team

With roots in site reliability engineering, Steve honed his expertise by running networking at UCSB and data centers for Citrix Online, Fastclick, and ValueClick. Frustrated by the monitoring tools for SaaS companies, he founded LogicMonitor in 2007. As the Founder, Chief Product Officer, and Chief Evangelist, Steve grew LogicMonitor to 500+ employees. It is now valued at over $2 billion. As CEO of Sidero Labs for the past five years, he’s focused on innovation across Kubernetes, infrastructure, and open source. Steve enjoys the challenge of scaling something from nothing.

Andrew is the Founder and CTO of Sidero Labs, where he leads efforts to simplify and secure modern infrastructure. He created Talos Linux, an OS for Kubernetes designed to reduce complexity and boost reliability in distributed systems. Andrew’s design philosophy reflects machine-driven and predictable infrastructure, free from manual pitfalls. A proponent of clean architecture and open source, Andrew contributes to cloud native projects and is dedicated to building tools that make infrastructure safer and easier to manage.

Justin is an engineer with extensive cloud native and infrastructure experience. He is the author of Cloud Native Infrastructure and built products used by hundreds of millions of users around the world. He believes deeply in the mission of Sidero Labs and the ability to make infrastructure better. If people are still maintaining new servers with SSH then Sidero still has work to do

Kim brings over 20 years of marketing and advocacy across the technology, cloud native, and open source industries. She specializes in transforming emerging ideas and technologies into widely adopted solutions through strategic marketing, advocacy, and community engagement. Her career includes leadership roles at companies such as Cisco, Oracle, Dell, and NetApp, as well as at innovative technology pioneers like SGI, Cray, and ADIC.

Community building, breaking down barriers, and uniting are her drivers.

Sean is an experienced technology and business professional with a background in economics. Skilled in using data-driven insights to build and scale tech solutions, lead sales teams, and manage product lifecycles, Sean builds long lasting and mutually enabling relationships focused on driving client growth. Passionate about creating value through strategic planning, customer focus, and cross-functional collaboration.

Experienced software engineer and team lead with 20+ years in software development, with projects ranging from exascale object storage to operating systems. Andrey loves to solve challenging problems, design software architectures, and optimize resource usage. Empowering the team to achieve outstanding results is my best accomplishment.

Spencer has over 15 years of experience in operations and maintenance of both cloud and bare metal server environments. He has worked in large enterprises across the public and private sectors. Driven by a strong focus on automation and system reliability, Spencer has deep expertise in tools such as Kubernetes, Go, Terraform, and Ansible. He is passionate about “dogfooding” and values spending time with customers to understand their pain points and develop practical solutions. Spencer enjoys spending time with his family, powerlifting, and going to concerts.
